Pirates of The Carribean - On Stranger Tides

Jack Sparrow and Barbossa are on a quest to find the elusive fountain of youth only to discover that Blackbeard and his daughter are after it, too.

To be perfectly honest if Johnny Depp wasn't part of this zillion dollar franchise we doubt whether we would have gone beyond the first movie. But he is so still so watchable as Jack Sparrow that we keep coming back. Visually it's awesome but the story meanders around like a drunk sailor trying to find his ship and to make a great movie you need a damn good, roller coaster of a story. It's better than the two previous movies and if you listen carefully there is some great dialogue especially from Capt Jack but maybe it's time to put the lid on this particular treasure chest.

Hangover Part 2

Two years after the batchelor party in Las Vegas, Phil, Stu, Alan and Doug travel to Thailand for Stu's wedding where Stu decides to play it safe by having a very low key pre-wedding brunch. But as usual, things don't go as planned.

Film making at its laziest. Make a good movie and follow it with a sequel that has almost the same story (they just lose a different guy) and set it in a different location. It had the potential to be hilarious but Bradley Cooper just looks pretty, Ed Helms over acts and Zach Galifianakis looks vacant. A huge disappointment.

Limitless

Eddie Morra (Bradley Cooper) is a would-be author whose life is going nowhere. He's got writer's block, doesn't wash, lives in a penniless mess and his girlfriend has just dumped him. So when a friend introduces him to a revolutionary new drug that will help him to tap into his full potential he decides to give it a try.

Fresh, fast paced, original and thoroughly entertaining and by far the best thing Bradley Cooper has done, proving that he is quite capable of holding his own even in scenes with the legendary Robert De Niro.

Captain America

Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) volunteers to take part in an experimental programme that turns him into a super hero - Captain America.

A classic super hero movie that relies on a winning recipe. Nevertheless, it's a roller coaster ride of adrenaline-fuelled fun that gets particularly good towards the end when it clearly sets itself up for The Avengers which sadly, will probably be rubbish.
